All About Us

ORGANICALLY GROWN

In April 2017 I crocheted a dishcloth, and Willow Tree Yarnery was born! I started to document my creations and, to my surprise, people started to ask me to make things for them.  Then they started to pay me, and suddenly I had a business.

I have always been committed to reducing waste in whatever way I can, and I realised that I had a chance to help other people do the same, so a commitment was made to use only sustainable plant-derived yarns, ethically sourced, organic or/and recycled where possible.

Yarny crafts have always been a great comforter to me, particularly when my mental health is wobbly.  I therefore also wanted Willow Tree Yarnery to be a place for people to learn how to make and create - particularly the vulnerable and the "wobbly".  So, I offer workshops, cake, and a friendly ear for anyone who wants to pick up a hook, knot some rope, or scribble something pretty.

I hope you enjoy looking at the website and find something to inspire you, to make you happy, or even something to buy!

Not sure I can live up to this headline, but it's nice to be recognised!

Susie Humphreys

Owner, designer and maker

I've always loved yarn crafts, but moving to the beautiful Worcestershire countryside and having my two boys inspired me to get out of the rat race (a large comprehensive school!) and set up something special. My business ethos matches my personal interests of eco-friendly interiors, the natural world, and rock and roll!
